The Britten-Norman Aircraft Preservation Society has "rescued" the first production Islander from Puerto Rico and has begun restoring the 33-year-old model to flying condition. The aircraft, originally delivered to Aurigny Air Services in August 1967, was flying in Puerto Rico until 1997, delivering food and medical supplies to the surrounding islands.
