Raisbeck Engineering has received US certification for its ZR Lite performance improvement system on the Bombardier Learjet 31 series. A similar retrofit kit has been available for the Learjet 35/36 series since 2004.

The modification recontours the wing trailing-edge flaps to minimise drag by reducing local Mach number at the wing/fuselage/pylon/nacelle juncture. Flap chord is also extended slightly to improve take-off and climb-out performance. Seattle-based Raisbeck says block fuel savings of 7-12% were documented during flight testing.
