In-flight connectivity service provider Row 44 has partnered with maintenance and modification specialist Lufthansa Technik in a bid to provide airline customers with "a high level of engineering service" as part of its connectivity offering.
As a result of this partnership, commercial airlines that select Row 44's satellite-based connectivity "will be able to take advantage of Lufthansa Technik's extensive and globally available installation, certification and integration services", said Row 44.
"Row 44 will certify and work closely with Lufthansa Technik to reduce installation and maintenance time and costs, reduce overall project risks, and optimise the considerable passenger - facing and airline operational advantages of the Row 44 solution for each airline customer," added the California-based firm.
Row 44's connectivity system is currently in operation on Southwest Airlines and European operator Norwegian. A competing system from Panasonic Avionics is flying on Lufthansa long-haul aircraft.
