Russia has carried out a series of test launches of the latest in its family of OTR short- to medium-range ballistic missiles. Test firings were carried out in late 1995 and early 1996. The tactical solid-fuel missile has a 400km (215nm) range and its operational version will be mounted on a vehicle. Middle Eastern sources say that the latest OTR model is designed to carry a conventional warhead and to be highly accurate.
