Russian carrier Transaero has signed a firm order for four Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
The deal, valued at $744 million at list prices, was inked during a 787 demonstration flight for the carrier's employees.
"Boeing 787s will perform flights on both Transaero's domestic and international routes," says Alexander Pleshakov, Transaero's board chairman.
The Moscow-based operator, which signed a provisional agreement for the 787s last December, had previously said that the twinjets would be configured with four first-class, 14 business-class and 244 economy-class seats.
The carrier had also made advance payments to secure the aircraft, which will be used to replace its Boeing 767s.
Transaero has also tentatively signed deals for Airbus A380 and Boeing 747-8 aircraft and placed an order for eight Airbus A320neos.
Boeing has more than 850 orders for the 787.
