Two years after it stopped flying, Ecuador's Saeta has finally lost its operating licence. In its last gasp, Saeta tried to convince officials to approve a plan for Peru's AeroContinente to wet-lease aircraft to it for flights to the USA. Ecuatoriana has a similar arrangement with LanChile. But the civil aviation council denied that request, revoked Saeta's licence, and ordered that its routes revert to the state. However, it did clear talks between LanChile over the extension of its operating contract with Ecuatoriana.
