A Malaysia Airlines Airbus A380 was grounded for over a week at London Heathrow due to a fuel quantity indicator issue.
The carrier tells FlightGlobal that the aircraft, 9M-MNF,was grounded on 26 July due to the quantity indicator issue, which was resolved by replacing a faulty fuel tank probe. The aircraft subsequently returned to Kuala Lumpur on 6 August.
Malaysia Airlines adds that the aircraft had operated flight MH2 from Kuala Lumpur to London Heathrow on 25 July before the indicator issue arose.
The Oneworld carrier did not say when the aircraft will return to service, but adds that it is scheduled for an "opportunity maintenance visit" before being redeployed.
Flight Fleets Analyzer shows that 9M-MNF is owned by Turus Pesawat, a special-purpose company owned by Malaysia's finance ministry.
