Hong Kong Airlines (HKA) has opened its first training facility, located near the airport.
The 11-storey complex will comprise 12 aircraft simulator bays, as well as other training facilities, such as classrooms and a swimming pool.
The HKA Training Academy will feature the CAE 7000XR series flight training simulators, which will train pilots operating the Airbus A330 and A350 types.
“The simulators host the latest technology in visual simulation, and has a worldwide database of airports including Hong Kong, Narita, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Beijing, to name a few,” the carrier states.
HKA chairman Hou Wei says: “HKA Training Academy is not only a result of Hong Kong Airlines’ ambitious effort to nurture future aviation talents but also a formal approach to aviation safety supporting Hong Kong’s thriving aviation industry.”
