London Gatwick airport has resumed operations after a brief further suspension of operation at the hub, initiated following another suspected drone incursion.
Flights operated by EasyJet and RwandAir were sent into holding patterns at around 17:00, followed by other services.
The RwandAir aircraft appears to have returned to Brussels while a WestJet flight inbound from Glasgow has also diverted.
Gatwick had re-opened early on 21 December after an extraordinary halt to operations, lasting more than 24h, in the wake of invasive drone activity.
Its operator states that it had suspended operations again during the evening, as a “precaution”, but has since resumed flights.
"Safety remains our main priority," it adds. "The military measures we have in place at the airport have provided us with reassurance necessary to re-open our airfield."
