Bombardier has a reputation for breaking the mould.
Celebrating the debut of the Global Express business jet, sales division president John Lawson says: "We are known for building great aircraft and for great engineering - now we want you to know about our cultural greats."
With that he introduced Samia Odeh, a 24-year-old Palestinian pianist, now living in Bombardier's home city of Montreal, who mesmerised the audience.
Samia will be playing in an hour-long recital at the Holiday Inn Crown Plaza on Sunday evening beginning at 8pm. She will debut three of her own compositions among a series of classical pieces.
Samia says: "I'm grateful to Bombardier for giving me the opportunity to play here"- and as anyone who makes the Holiday Inn concert will no doubt agree, Dubai should be grateful too.
