ST Aviation Services (Sasco), the commercial maintenance arm of Singapore Technologies Aerospace (STAe) has signed a $21 million contract with Northwest Airlines for the modification of nine Boeing 747-200s, with options on another six similar aircraft.

The contract calls for Section 41 modification and corrosion prevention control, to be carried out at Sasco's workshops at Singapore Changi International Airport from the middle of this month.

The contract reinforces Sasco's position as a leader in third-party maintenance and modification, says STAe president and Sasco chairman Boon Swan Foo.
