The Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC) is attempting to claw back disaffected business aircraft companies to the Farnborough International air show.

The SBAC admits it lost business aircraft exhibitor support last year, notably to the European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition, held in Geneva two months before Farnborough, and says in 2004 it "will address the needs of core business aircraft manufacturers". SBAC has teamed with Farnborough airport operator and business aviation services provider TAG Aviation to set up a business aircraft park on the site for the first three trade days.

Amanda Stainer, SBAC's head of exhibitions, says: "Farnborough International is not a business aircraft show, and is not trying to be one. We do not want to directly compete with other trade exhibitions in this sector, but we can deliver a large international audience and an environment which is conducive to doing business."
