Schenker Aeroparts Systems, the specialist global spares distribution service, is promoting its recently-formed partnership with Sodexi, the air express subsidiary company of Air France, at the show. The two are offering express transport of parts across the Air France, SkyTeam alliance and the Schenker network, as well as express handling operations.

It will essentially work on parts shipped out of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, taking advantage of Air France's 14,000 sq m express warehouse, a 6,000 parcel per hour sorting system, customised trucks and computerised tracking. "We can put an AOG (aircraft on ground) shipment on the plane 30-40 minutes before take-off," says Schenker's Patrick Boy.

Launched in 1996, Schenker Aeroparts Systems was created by global logistics giant Schenker to offer a dedicated parts transport service to airlines, aircraft and engine manufacturers and maintenance operations.
