Amsterdam Schiphol Airport will request permission from the Dutch government to reduce by 4.5% takeoff and landing fees for jet aircraft. Schiphol hopes to ease the pain currently felt by its airline customers. It also hopes to offset the new security charges the carriers are paying in the wake of 11 September.
