Boeing-led Sea Launch has scheduled its first commercial flight for 10 October, carrying the Hughes-built DirecTV 1-R direct broadcast satellite. The command ship and launch platform are due to leave Long Beach for the equatorial ocean launch-site before the end of September. Sea Launch successfully conducted a demonstration launch in March.
