Bombardier has chosen Paris to launch its new special edition Learjet watch, becoming the first aircraft company in the world to tie in an aviator's watch with its aircraft. It also intends to enter the International Aviation Watch of the Year competition next year.

Designed in conjunction with Swiss company B-Watch, the timepiece includes a Swiss chronograph with flyback feature, a compass card, Super Luminova illuminated hands and 30min and 1/10sec counters.

The buttons are set away from the pilot's hand, in order not to be a distraction in flight and the chunky timepieces come in a range of designs.

The company plans to launch a Challenger watch at NBAA and a Global gold encased watch at Dubai.

There are plans to launch a smaller edition more suitable for women at a later date. A limited numbers of the watches is available at Paris and they retail from $1,500 to $3,500.
