Telesat Canada has ordered a second Hughes Space and Communications HS-702 high-power satellite to enter service in late 2002 as Anik F2. The Canadian company's first 702, Anik F1, is set for launch this year. Anik F2 will carry 24 C-band, 32 Ku-band and, for the first time, 52 Ka-band transponders - the latter to carry Internet-related services.
