Space Shuttle orbiter Discovery was rolled into the vehicle assembly building at the Kennedy Space Center on 29 March, where the solid rocket boosters and external tank are already mated, in preparation for the return to flight mission, STS 114. Discovery is due to be launched between 15 May and 3 June, about 29 months after the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia and its seven crew during re-entry on 1 February 2003. STS 114, with commander Eileen Collins and six crew members, will fly to the International Space Station on the first of two test flights to check out new inspection and repair techniques, as well as to deliver supplies.
