A Singapore Airlines Airbus A380 operating a London-Singapore service was forced to divert to Baku, Azerbaijan on 6 January owing to a cabin depressurisation.
The aircraft, bearing registration 9V-SKE, was carrying 467 passengers and 27 crew, all of whom disembarked safely after the aircraft landed at 01:03 local time, says an SIA spokesman.
The depressurisation caused the aircraft’s oxygen masks to be deployed.
The Rolls-Royce Trent 900 powered aircraft was delivered to SIA in June 2008, according to Flightglobal’s Ascend Online database. Following a sale and leaseback transaction on the delivery date, 9V-SKE is owned by DS-Fonds and is managed by Doric.
