Turkish Airlines has signed up to be the launch customer for Honeywell's Smart Traffic system.
The carrier will get an avionics suite that includes Smart Traffic, Smart Runway and IntuVue 3D weather radar systems, says Honeywell.
This uses a new Airbus airborne traffic situational awareness (ATSAW) system, which depends on ADS-B technology to provide pilots with more information on surrounding air traffic, it adds.
Honeywell's Smart Traffic will be used on 10 Airbus A330s that are to be delivered to Turkish from 2010 to 2012.
Its avionics have also been chosen for Turkish's 12 Boeing 777s that are to be delivered between 2010 and 2011.
