ST Engineering has signed a memorandum of understanding with Surbana Jurong and Changi Airport Planners and Engineers (CAPE) to form a consortium to participate in overseas airport development projects.
The consortium plans to develop a "comprehensive export strategy" for the business, with a focus on markets in Asia-Pacific and cities with strong growth potential, says the parent company of ST Aerospace.
The aim is to deliver "holistic, end-to-end solutions" that can enhance efficiency and security of airport operations, as well as improve air travel experience.
ST Engineering will provide technologies such as analytics-driven airport operations command systems, security solutions, unmanned aerobridge systems, and autonomous baggage handling systems.
Surbana Jurong will focus on areas such as master planning of aerotropoli, large-scale infrastructure, services design, and building consultancy services for the aviation sector.
CAPE will meanwhile share its expertise in airport master planning, airfield and engineering, terminal planning, as well as project management. It is the lead consultant for airfield engineering of the Changi East development, which includes Changi airport's fifth terminal.
In the coming months, the trio will initiate activities to expand the consortium's presence in target overseas markets. These include defining tender participation requirements, and developing best practices and its go-to-market approach.
