BERNARD GALLAGHER
"When all eyes are on the sky, you need good feet on the ground" runs the motto of show security contractor RJA Security. And if operations director Bernard Stone has his way, the company will soon be putting some good feet aboard airline fleets.
SkyWatch is the Odiham-based company's response to the rising demand for a visible improvement in airline security. RJA, which is also the permanent site security contractor at Farnborough, is talking to a number of international airlines about supplying them with "sky marshals" to calm nervous passengers.
"Our market research shows that 80% of travellers would be reassured by visible evidence of extra security on aircraft," says Stone.
"We think that in future this will become a fully-accepted aspect of travel on many international routes."
