More than 500 test pilots and flight test engineers gathered for the 48th annual Society of Experimental Test Pilots symposium in Los Angeles from 15-18 September. Sessions ranged from updates on high-end military programmes to the challenges of morphing a crop-duster into a para-drop platform. The increased role of simulation in flight tests was also highlighted. Guy Norris reports
