Spanish private sector carrier Spanair is taking legal action against partially privatised carrier Iberia, accusing it of disloyal competition. In July 1999, Iberia contracted 25 Spanair co-pilots, which is not illegal. However, according to Spanair, the pilots were encouraged to resign without giving their statutory three months' notice, effectively putting them in breach of contract.
