Three more designs have received light-sport aircraft certification from the US Federal Aviation Administration, taking to 15 the number of approvals awarded since the new category was established in April. FlyItalia’s MD-3 SportRider, built in the Czech Republic and marketed in the USA by AveoUSA, and the Italian-made Tecnam Echo Super are both all-metal high-wing, tricycle-gear aircraft, while Czech manufacturer Zlin’s Savage is a metal-and-fabric taildragger. All three are Rotax-powered.
