Deliveries of Airbus A320s have begun to Virgin America despite the fact it is yet to set a firm date for the start of operations. The airline’s launch was postponed after US regulators began investigating its ownership and its relationship with British entrepreneur and Virgin Group head Sir Richard Branson following complaints from several US carriers. The airline, which has eight A319s and 11 A320s on firm order and is also acquiring leased aircraft, aims to launch operations from San Francisco by early next year.
