EasyJet founder and 41% shareholder Stelios Haji-Ioannou has sought to dampen speculation that he may take the company private following a drop in the carrier's share price. In an open letter, he says that "all sensible options are considered from time to time", but adds that taking easyJet private at this stage would be "something of an extreme measure". Stelios has a contractual right to take on the chairmanship if he so wishes.
