Taiwanese carrier EVA Air posted a NT2.6 billion ($85 million) operating profit for the third quarter, down by 35.2% from last year.
Revenue for the quarter ended 30 September declined by 3.9% to NT$45.5 billion, while costs and expenses related to operations were broadly steady, declining by 1% to NT42.9 billion.
As a result, net profit nearly halved to NT$1.27 billion, compared to NT$2.64 billion last year.
In the first nine months of 2019, the airline's operating profit was down by 8.6% to NT$7.3 billion.
Revenue declined marginally, by 0.8% to NT$134 billion, while operating costs and expenses were reduced by almost as much to NT$117 billion.
Net profit fell by 46.3% to NT$3.21 billion, compared to NT$5.98 billion last year.
