Three unions have submitted joint pay and incentives demand to British Airways.
BALPA and Unite, which represent BA pilots and cabin crew respectively and the GMB union, which represents terminal and head office staff, engineers and IT workers, are seeking pay rises for their members from January 2019 onwards as well as "enhanced" profit-sharing arrangements and the introduction of an employee share ownership scheme.
In a joint statement, the unions say that the IAG-owned airline is now reporting "extraordinary financial results" but that the carrier has allowed a culture to develop in which employees are "disconnected from the airline’s success".
"The joint union pay claim is designed to re-establish this connection between financial success and staff reward," they add.
Negotiations between the unions and the Oneworld carrier are due to commence next month.
A BA spokesman says: "We are working with our unions to find a positive approach to our pay talks."
