South African Airways (SAA) was hoping to quickly return to normal operations after reaching a pay and benefit settlement package with its striking workers last week when ground and cabin staff ended a crippling stoppage which began on 22 July. The airline, which was at a virtual standstill for a week, says that a “binding agreement” has been signed by management and labour unions.
