Superjet International partners Alenia Aeronautica and Sukhoi expect to agree appointments to fill the joint venture's second and third management tiers at a board meeting in October. At the company's first board meeting last week, Amedeo Caporaletti was appointed chairman and Alessandro Franzoni was named chief executive.

Sukhoi nominees will fill the positions of secretary general, chief financial officer and head of procurement, while Alenia will appoint the heads of operations, marketing and sales and after-sales.

Alenia Aeronautica chief executive Giovanni Bertolone predicts that "probably in three to four years there will be 500 people working [for Superjet International], not necessarily all in Venice, but also in the Russian [support] branch".
