Bombardier has completed the first flight of its third Global 7000 flight-test vehicle, with the 10 May sortie taking place from its Toronto site.

The airframer will use FTV3 to test the avionics and electrical systems on the ultra-long-range business jet.

Bombardier provides few other details about the flight, other than to say the aircraft carried two engineers in addition to two pilots.

The certification effort for the Global 7000 was launched in November 2013 with the first flight of the initial test aircraft. A second aircraft joined the fleet on 4 March this year.

The company says its flight-test programme remains on track for the Global 7000 to achieve certification in 2018.
