French financial judicial institution Parquet National Financier has joined the probe into alleged fraud at Airbus previously opened by UK authorities.
Airbus says it intends to “co-operate fully” with both organisations.
The airframer had already been under investigation by the UK’s Serious Fraud Office, having self-referred over suspicions that it had wrongly applied for export credit support.
Airbus states that the Parquet National Financier has also opened a preliminary investigation into the “irregularities” regarding third-party consultants, and the allegations of bribery and corruption.
Both authorities are set to co-ordinate their inquiries.
