TAPAir Portugal has selected the CFM International CFM56-5B/P turbofan to power 18 Airbus A319s which it has on firm order, deliveries of which are due to begin in December 1997. As part of the deal, CFMI will provide financing for four of the twinjets, which TAP is taking on financial leases.
