Teledesic aims to select by year-end either Italy's Alenia Spazio or Lockheed Martin as prime contractor for its orbiting Ka-band internet-in-the-sky broadband satellite network. Dennis James, Teledesic president says: "Despite the current financial markets, we still intend to deliver on our promise of broadband connectivity on a global scale."
