A Thai Airways International Airbus A340-500 was released by US authorities yesterday after a security screening following a bomb hoax on the flight.
The aircraft departed Los Angeles International Airport for Bangkok at 02:38hr, more than three hours after its scheduled departure.
The A340 was on a flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles when a passenger found a bomb threat note in the lavatory and alerted the cabin crew, says the airline.
Upon the aircraft's arrival at Los Angeles, US authorities screened passengers, crew, baggage and the aircraft before releasing it for its return flight to Bangkok.
Reports quoting the Federal Bureau of Investigation say that the threat, written on a mirror in the lavatory, appeared to be a hoax.
