Earlier this year Grob selected IESI for its Ranger G160. Other previously announced applications include the Challenger 300 and Gulfstream G150. Introduced in 1997, the system provides aircraft attitude (gyro horizon), airspeed and altitude through a single instrument. More than 3,000 examples have been delivered worldwide.
Meanwhile, the company’s enhanced flight vision system (EFVS) has been installed on a Bombardier Global Express and is fully operational. Standard on the Global Express XRS and optional on the Global 5000, EFVS has been certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration, Transport Canada and the European Aviation Safety Agency. It has been evaluated over 175 flight hours in all phases of flight, including taxi, take-off, approach and landing; at night; and in snow, rain and fog.
