Singapore-based low-cost carrier Tiger Airways has appointed a Hong Kong-based airline and transport analyst as its new chief financial officer. Tiger says Peter Negline will replace Evelyn Tan who will be leaving the company.

Negline was most recently head of regional transportation research at JPMorgan Securities in Hong Kong. Tiger says Negline's responsibilities "will focus on optimising the company's financial position as it pursues aggressive fleet expansion and network development across the Asia-Pacific region".

The carrier, 49%-owned by Singapore Airlines, has been expanding quickly and is looking to set up bases in other parts of Asia, such as in the Philippines. It is also setting up a domestic operation in Australia that is due to be launched in November.
