Eurocopter has delayed the delivery of the first production Tiger combat helicopter to Germany, and now expects to hand it over "within the next three or four months". The Tiger was due with the German army by the end of 2002, but Eurocopter says "such a delay, particularly for the first of a series, is not unusual given that there is so much new technology on board". Eurocopter says there is no major reason for the hold-up but that some flight tests have been delayed by extreme weather. "We are still within the normal timeframe for delivery according to the contract," it says.
