Austrian regional carrier Tyrolean Airways is to take over Lauda Air's seven-aircraft Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) fleet.

Discussions are under way over the timetable for the takeover, says Tyrolean president and CEO Fritz Fietl, but the agreement in principle is in place. Tyrolean may take over the CRJ routes or just the aircraft, he continues. In some cases Lauda, which is increasing its leisure market role, might put 737s on routes currently served by CRJs. Lauda has two 737-800s on order and operates two -300s and two -400s.
