Investigators are looking into an incident involving a jammed horizontal stabiliser which occurred during an EasyJet Airbus A320 service to London Gatwick.
The incident, which took place on 27 July, is being probed by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch.
But details have been disclosed by French counterpart BEA, which says the aircraft affected had serial number 6192.
This is listed by Flight Fleets Analyzer as a two-year old airframe (G-EZWX).
BEA’s information is only preliminary but it classifies the incident, during a service from Heraklion in Greece, as serious. The authority says the trimmable horizontal stabiliser "jammed in flight".
It adds that the event occurred in the Brest flight information region in north-western France.
No further information as to the circumstances of the problem has been disclosed.
