Umeco subsidiary AEM has acquired Aviation Windings (AW) from the Deritend Group. AEM has also signed an agreement to provide winding services to Goodrich Control Systems, AW’s major customer, for five years. AW manufactures and repairs wound components for electric motors and generators for in-flight operations. John Smith, chief executive of Umeco’s repair and overhaul division, says: “AW closely complements AEM’s electrical component repair activity but significantly broadens its capability in this area.”
