United Airlines has signed a five-year contract with Ameco Beijing to provide airframe heavy maintenance for its fleet of Boeing 747s and 777s.
Ameco Beijing will support all heavy maintenance visits and some cabin upgrades for the 777s, and the heavy maintenance visits and C-checks on the 747s, say the two companies. The MRO firm will start working on United's 777 fleet in June and on the 747 fleet in October.
This builds on a previous five-year deal, which ended last year, for Ameco to provide heavy maintenance for United's 777 fleet.

Ameco Beijing's general manager Hu Yuliang adds: "The signing of this new contract and expanding our service is a testimony to Ameco Beijing's maintenance capability and quality. Moreover, it also helps to enhance Ameco Beijing's leading position in the MRO industry worldwide. This lays a solid foundation for the company's development in the North American market."
United operates 360 aircraft, of which 52 are Boeing 777s and 24 are Boeing 747s.
Ameco Beijing is a joint venture between Air China (60%) and German carrier Lufthansa (40%).
