United Airlines has announced nine new routes from its hubs at Chicago O'Hare, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington Dulles airports that will begin starting in November.
International services include the resumption of non-stop flights between San Francisco and both Taipei and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Daily Taipei service on a Boeing 777-200 will begin on 9 April 2013 and daily Paris service on a Boeing 767-300ER on 11 April 2013.
New services between Chicago and Monterey, Mexico, Thunder Bay, Ontario, and Nassau, Bahamas; Los Angeles and Kelowna, British Columbia; and Washington and San Salvador, El Salvador, will also be launched. Daily Monterey service on a Bombardier CRJ700 will begin on 9 December, daily Thunder Bay service on a CRJ200 on 14 February 2013, Saturday only seasonal Nassau service on a CRJ700 on 9 February 2013, and both daily Kelowna service on a CRJ700 and daily San Salvador service on a Boeing 737-800 on 19 December.
All international services are subject government approval, except Kelowna and Thunder Bay.
New domestic services include Chicago to Jackson and Denver to Williston. Both daily Jackson service on an Embraer 145 and three-times daily Williston service on an E145 begin on 4 November.
"These additional services underscore three commitments - to fly where our customers want to fly, to introduce new flights where we can profitably do so, and to be the clear leader in service and choice in each of our hub cities," says Jim Compton, chief revenue officer at United, in a statement.
The airline maintains its guidance that capacity will shrink by between 0.5% and 1.5% this year compared to 2011.
