US Airways plans to introduce daily nonstop flights from its Charlotte hub to Rome beginning 13 May.
The carrier is operating Airbus A330-300s on the year-round flights, featuring 29 seats in its Envoy business class and 259 in the main cabin. US Airways recently announced a network realignment that includes placing more emphasis on its Phoenix, Charlotte and Philadelphia hubs and its focus city of Washington, DC.
The carrier next year is cutting five transatlantic markets from its Philadelphia hub - Birmingham, London Gatwick, Milan, Shannon and Stockholm.
