A BAe 146-100 is shown flying low over Nevada during one of nine test flights conducted to evaluate the aircraft's suitability for firefighting duties for the US Forest Service. The service could decide next month to buy new aircraft to renew its air tanker fleet after evaluating proposals from several bidders. The BAe 146-100 tanker conversion is being offered by aerial firefighting operator Minden Air, in co-operation with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft and leasing company Tronos, which supplied the test 146.
