US security officials plan to demand passenger lists in advance from foreign flag carriers on flights that pass through US airspace on their way to another nation such as those from Europe or Asia bound for Mexico or Central/South American points. The plan may violate elementary rights of flight but the US Homeland Security Department insists on the demand, which was spurred by its discovery of the names of two passengers on its "no fly" list on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Mexico City in April.
