The USA has formally withdrawn its complaint against 14 of 15 European Union states in the long-running hushkit dispute. The State Department credited Europe's April repeal of the hushkit rule and the decision instead to manage noise at airports via a series of measures that do not include noise charging schemes unless authorised at government level. But the USA will continue its case at ICAO against Belgium because of airport restrictionsin that country.
