Emirates Airline has signed an agreement with UTC Aerospace Systems under which UTC will maintain components and systems on many of the carrier’s Airbus A380s for 15 years, UTC announces.
Under the deal, UTC will provide Emirates with inventory support, and it will repair and overhaul A380 air management systems, engine systems, actuation systems and supplemental cooling systems, the company says.
The deal applies to 115 A380s.
Emirates’ fleet includes 75 of that type, though it also has orders for another 65 A380s, according to Flightglobal’s Fleets Analyzer database.
