There are plenty of interesting seats on display at the Aircraft Interiors Expo, but Contour’s Venus first class multi-functional first class suite product adds a touch of extra luxury.

Unique features on the 38in wide seat include a rising and lowering side arm, which also doubles as a privacy screen, a table which tracks forwards and back, and a sliding multi-way light feature. The sculpted centre console provides additional bed space, and privacy screens for centre seats can be raised or lowered.

There is also a 21in LCD monitor and a sliding adjustable ottoman that provides a seat for a guest as well as extra stowage. There is an optional slim-line wardrobe in the side-screen. Graham Ballard, business development director at Contour, says: “Venus offers passengers unparalleled levels of space and an extensive range of facilities that have been designed to offer the premium traveller the maximum in luxury, comfort and privacy.”

Contour remains tight-lipped about the launch customer, saying only that it is an “Asian airline”. The company also says a Middle Eastern airline is “very interested” in the product.
